Mauro
Cunha Ramos is Director of the Centro
de Estudos de AIDS de
Rio Grande do Sul (CEARGS) in Pôrto Alegre, Brazil, and Clinical
Professor of
Dermatology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, also in
Pôrto
Alegre. CEARGS is the CAPS-affiliated
training center for Latin America and is sponsored by the Brazilian
Ministry of
Health. Dr. Ramos, who was a Fogarty
fellow with Dr. Rutherford at the San Francisco Department of Public
Health and
received his M.P.H. from the University of California, Berkeley, is a
long-time
CAPS collaborator.
