Heidi Frank, MBA, MPH

Heidi Frank is a Research Analyst and since joining the Prevention and Public Health Group has assisted with the development of surveillance training modules and has assessed the state of the Gold Star Network in Kenya, a franchised care model of services aimed to improve the quality of HIV/AIDS care and treatment among a network of private providers. She is currently working as part-time project director for an SFDPH voluntary counseling and testing study.

Prior to working at UCSF she was part of the surveillance team at the CDC’s Global AIDS Program in Atlanta and Angola specializing in HIV/AIDS behavioral surveillance surveys among higher risk populations and sentinel surveys among women attending antenatal care. Her range of international experience includes providing technical assistance to the Guyana Ministry of Health with the implementation of a patient monitoring system for HIV care and treatment and acting as technical reviewer for research, surveillance, and monitoring and evaluation protocols from implementing partners in Uganda.

Her experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay solidified her interest in international health issues and led her to a Masters in International Public Health and a Masters in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University.
